Cardiff Arena is a major leisure and entertainment development in the heart of Cardiff. Midwest is working for McLaren on the concrete core package, slipforming six cores alongside the structure of the scheme’s hotel.

The Package

Six slipform cores form the vertical backbone of the development, rising continuously alongside the structural steel frame. Slipforming allows the cores to be built quickly and to a consistent finish, giving the steel erectors and following trades a stable structure to work from. The hotel forms part of the same scheme.
